➡️ Step One: Business Name

Start with the avatar you created in ChatGPT, using the same conversation.

➡️ “I am going to feed you my customer avatar so that you can help me come up with ideas for naming my business: [INSERT AVATAR.].“

He’s slightly stressed but maintains a good-natured, humorous expression, reflecting his love for sarcastic and edgy humour. He’s dressed in smart-casual office attire and likes mugs with witty quotes that impress his co-workers. He often checks his phone, with social media apps like Facebook and Instagram.“

You can also try this:

➡️ “Suggest more unique business names that are trendy yet distinct in the field of [your industry], considering the keywords [list your keywords].”

You can also use ChatGPT to come up with a logo for your business.

➡️ “Can you provide tips on creating an impactful logo for my brand in the [niche/industry]“

ChatGPT will provide something like this:

  1. Understand Your Brand Personality: Your brand revolves around playful, entertaining mugs that mock. The logo should reflect this unique personality – consider using whimsical elements, bright colours, and a fun typeface to convey playfulness and humour.
  2. Simplicity is Key: A simple design is often the most memorable and easily recognizable. Avoid cluttering the logo with too many elements or overly complex designs. A straightforward, clean design can be very effective.
  3. Colour Choices: Colours evoke emotions and convey messages. For a brand like MockMugs, vibrant and lively colours can emphasise the fun and playful nature of your products. However, it’s also important to ensure good contrast for readability, especially if the logo will be displayed on various backgrounds.
  4. Typography Matters: The font used in your logo should align with the brand’s personality. A fun, quirky font might work well for MockMugs, but make sure it’s legible, especially at smaller sizes.
  5. Versatility and Scalability: Your logo should look good in different formats and sizes – from tiny icons on a website to larger prints on packaging. It should be legible and visually appealing in both colour and black and white.
  6. Iconography: Since your brand is about mugs, incorporating a mug into the logo design can be a direct and effective way to communicate what your business is about. However, the challenge is to do it in a way that’s unique and not too literal.
  7. Storytelling: Sometimes, a logo tells a story or includes a hidden element that creates a talking point. This could be particularly effective for a brand like yours that has a playful and humorous tone.

➡️ “Please suggest a logo design for my [product/service] using Dall-E”

Finally, you can also get ChatGPT to come up with a complete branding package.

  • Note down your USP
  • List gaps in the market that you are filling.
  • Include the values and emotions you want to convey.
  • Include your preferred style for the logo – minimalistic, modern, classic, etc. Also any colour and font preferences.

➡️ “Act as my branding expert. The product is a bamboo toothbrush multi-holder and brush set to sell on Etsy. It is 100% recycled, plastic free and biodegradable. It is aimed at design conscious people with a family who have strong ethics about the environment. It’s the only one that allows you to hold all the family brushes as well as toothpaste. My logo should be minimalistic. Green and brown colour scheme. elegant contemporary font.“

Now use these follow-up prompts:

➡️ “Come up with X number of brand names.“

The AI will reply with something like…

  1. EcoBrushFamily
  2. BambooNest
  3. GreenGrasp
  4. NatureMingle
  5. EcoHold

Pick one and ask it to use its DALL-E function (if you have ChatGPT Pro) to suggest a label design.

➡️ “Let’s go with BambooNest. Now come up with a logo design.“

You will get ideas like these.

[IMPORTANT NOTE: You will see that Dall-e can come up with great designs BUT doesn’t quite get the text right. But don’t worry – there is a very simple fix. Take a look at the accompanying video for this module and I’ll show you how to quickly fix this!]

Then use these prompts:

➡️ “Come up with a Packaging Concept”

ChatGPT will give you advice on material, design, functionality, branding and what info needs to be on the packaging.

➡️ “Craft me a clear and compelling marketing message”

It will give you a long marketing copy message that you can use for your listing, stating the USP, benefits and values.

➡️ “Give me some Visual Elements for Branding (eg patterns or icons)”

You’ll get some written advice on what to include.

➡️ “Give me some textual content (like taglines) to use in branding and marketing materials”.

You’ll get something that looks like this:

  1. Eco-Conscious Taglines: Craft taglines that emphasise sustainability, such as “Nature’s Embrace for Your Family’s Smile” or “Green Elegance in Every Brush.”
  2. Product Descriptions: Use language that highlights the product’s eco-friendly and family-friendly aspects. Phrases like “Sustainably Sourced,” “Family-Centric Design,” or “Eco-Friendly Elegance” can be effective.
  3. Storytelling: Develop a narrative around BambooNest, focusing on the journey of creating an eco-conscious product for families. This story can be shared across your website, brochures, and social media.
  4. Educational Content: Provide content that educates your audience about sustainability and the importance of eco-friendly products. This can include blog posts, social media content, and informational inserts in your packaging.
  5. Customer Testimonials: Highlight positive reviews and testimonials from families who have used your product. This adds a personal touch and builds trust with potential customers.
  6. Calls to Action (CTAs): Use compelling CTAs like “Join the Green Revolution,” “Elevate Your Family’s Eco-Practices,” or “Shop Sustainably.”

You can then use this material to create your listing later.
